The summer of celebrity splits has found its latest victim.
Jeezy has filed for divorce from his wife and TV host, Jeannie Mai, on September 14 after more than two years of marriage.
According to a report from the Atlanta Journal-Constitution, the 45-year-old rapper filed papers in Fulton County Superior Court. He is also seeking joint custody of their daughter, Monaco.
Mai and Jeezy first met when the rapper appeared on “The Real,” a syndicated talk show hosted by Mai for eight seasons until its cancellation in 2022.
The couple tied the knot in March 2021. They have a prenuptial agreement so it’s unlikely that Jeannie Mai will be walking away with half of Jeezy’s reported $20 million net worth.
Jeezy’s filing says the former couple are “currently living in a bona fide state of separation,” and that their marriage is “irretrievably broken” with “no hope for reconciliation.”
The divorce comes months after Mai opened up about her life as a wife and mom on the “Jennifer Hudson Show” in May.
