Joey Bada$$ recently opened up about the real reason behind canceling his “Dark Aura Tour” with Ab-Soul and Rapsody.
During a recent interview on the Earn Your Leisure podcast’s “Black Out With Ian & Rashad”, the Brooklyn artist was asked about the sudden cancellation of the tour.
He shared his thoughts candidly, saying: “I thought about how to address this, and I’m gonna choose honesty,”
Joey added, “My honest truth of why I canceled the tour was my mental health was just not aligned with it. I did not feel mentally fit enough to embark on this journey. I got my 5-month-old son. We tryng ot figure out vaccinations and all this stuff. It’s just such a critical time. My energy level is at a all-time low.”
Addressing speculation that poor ticket sales were to blame for the cancellation, Joey dispelled the rumors.
“I see a lot of people saying, ‘Obviously, the tickets didn’t sell,'” Joey continued. “Listen, I been touring a long time. Tickets sell…I had to choose me. And I’m really sincerely sorry about all of my fans that I’ve disappointed and let down…I just didn’t have the bandwidth myself.”
The tour, announced back in August, was slated to run from October 16 to November 17 in support of his “Lonely At The Top” album. However, on October 1, plans for the nationwide trek were officially scrapped due to unforeseen circumstances.
