Ye fans will need to hold on a little longer for the arrival of his highly anticipated “Bully” album, as the rapper has delayed its release to March following the signing of a new partnership with independent music company Gamma.
Initially slated to drop on January 30, the album is now planned for release on March 20. The postponement comes after Ye secured a deal with Gamma, a company co-founded in 2023 by former Apple executive Larry Jackson and record industry veteran Ike Youssef.
Gamma also represents artists such as Sexyy Red, Rick Ross, French Montana, Mariah Carey, and others.
Ye first announced “Bully”, his 12th solo album, last September. The project, described as a concept album, was largely recorded in Tokyo, Japan.
Earlier in March, Ye released a short film titled “Bully” with director Hype Williams, showcasing several tracks from the album. It is uncertain whether the final album will include these same songs. The project was initially scheduled for release last June but has faced multiple delays since.
This latest update follows Ye’s recent public efforts to reconcile with the communities he previously offended. He placed an ad in “The Wall Street Journal” apologizing for past comments deemed anti-Semitic and expressing regret to both Black and Jewish communities.
Addressing concerns about authenticity, he emphasized that his apology was genuine and not a promotional tactic for the upcoming release.
