Duane ‘Keefe D’ Davis is pursuing an appeal against his conviction for the 1996 murder of Tupac Shakur.

On August 31, a jury in Clark County convicted Keefe D of first-degree murder using a deadly weapon, with the intent to benefit a criminal gang, in connection with Tupac’s death.

Immediately after the verdict was announced, the Los Angeles resident notified the judge of his intention to appeal the decision and requested the return of items confiscated during the investigation.

“I’d like to have all my stuff back,” he told Judge Carli Kierny. “The computers, all of the phones, everything. And I’d like to appeal this matter.”

Judge Kierny explained that an appeal can be filed, but it must wait until after the sentencing scheduled for October 13, where there is a possibility of a life sentence.

2Pac’s Family Gets Emotional After Verdict

CNN reported that following the guilty verdict, Keefe D momentarily raised his fist and glanced at those present while leaving the courtroom. Family members of Tupac Shakur were in attendance and displayed visible emotion as the verdict was delivered, with Sekyiwa “Set” Shakur, the late rapper’s sister, quietly shedding tears.

This September marks 30 years since Tupac’s passing.

Though initially projected to last six weeks, the trial concluded in three weeks. The jury reached their verdict after just 90 minutes of deliberation.
