Kodak Black has been released from jail after posting a $75,000 bond in connection to a drug trafficking case.

The South Florida rapper, whose real name is Bill Kapri, voluntarily surrendered to authorities on May 6. The following day, he appeared in court in Orange County, Florida, for a bond hearing.

During the proceedings, his attorney, Bradford Cohen, requested a $10,000 bond, arguing that the evidence against his client was circumstantial. However, the judge set the bond at $75,000, citing Kodak’s extensive criminal history, which includes 12 prior felony arrests.

As a condition of his release, Kodak is prohibited from using drugs, possessing firearms, or associating with individuals tied to the case.

Outside the courthouse, reporters eagerly crowded around the rapper, but he declined to comment as he left.

The charges stem from a November 2025 incident where law enforcement allegedly discovered a bag containing MDMA during a vehicle search. Authorities claim the bag was linked to Kodak.

“This is a case that legally is not sufficient to charge possession of the item,” Cohen said.

“Then, instead of simple possession, they doubled down and filed it as a trafficking charge. I will be fighting the charge. This is an ongoing theme where cases that would normally not be filed due to a weak legal basis are filed against Mr. Kapri. We look forward to yet another fruitful resolution to another case that should have never been filed.”
