Kodak Black has partnered with the music discovery platform Audius to introduce a new artist coin, $YAK.
Coinciding with his annual Kodak Day festivities in Pompano Beach, Florida, $YAK will offer fans exclusive access to unreleased tracks, stems, and behind-the-scenes content regularly shared by the rapper. As a preview, Kodak has already uploaded an unreleased $YAK-exclusive track on Audius.
Audius CEO and cofounder, Roneil Rumburg, praised the artist, highlighting Kodak’s role as a trailblazer in hip-hop and his innovative approach to connecting with fans through unique digital experiences. Rumburg emphasized how $YAK exemplifies this forward-thinking spirit by deepening connections through Audius technology.
“Kodak Black is beloved by legions of fans as a true innovator in hip hop,” Roneil Rumburg said in a statement.
“He’s taking that same pioneering spirit to create an entirely new way to engage and reward his most passionate fans, using Audius technology to unlock special moments for them and build a more meaningful relationship.”
Ryan “Killshot” Prieur, Kodak’s longtime manager, added that $YAK reflects the evolving music industry by prioritizing fan ownership and empowering listeners.
As for Kodak, he added: “You already know – YAK.”
