XXXTentacion has been gone for some time now, but his spirit has never left. June 18 marked the fourth anniversary of his death. In remembrance of, Kodak Black decided to re-release a song titled “Falling Over,” a KasimGotJuice-produced effort that sees the Floridian star paying homage to his lost peer.

Initially unveilled via YouTube in June of 2021 as a tribute to XXXTentacion, fans have felt a strong connection to the vulnerable and touching lyrics. “Come alive cause I need an angel / Didn’t know that you can die” Kodak sings in the moving homage to the late rapper.

While you don’t hear Kodak Black mention XXXTentacion’s name much in “Falling”, he does talk about almost dying quite a bit in the song.

The Florida rapper, born Jahseh Onfroy, was fatally shot at a motorcycle dealership in his home state. The assailants fled the scene in an SUV after stealing a Louis Vuitton bag containing $50k. Sustaining multiple bullet wounds to the neck, he was eventually pronounced dead.
