Rap star Lil Baby has been traveling with NBA player James Harden, who was also frisked by Paris police, but not arrested.
While in Paris for Fashion Week, Lil Baby was detained by police after being stopped and frisked late Thursday afternoon (July 8). Prosecutors in the city’s 8th precinct have opened an investigation.
Reports claim that 20 grams of weed was found in the glove compartment of the car Baby was riding in. French newspaper Le Parisien reports that the cops checked a vehicle that smelled like cannabis around 4:30 p.m. local time.
The Parisian police arrested, this Thursday, three individuals, including the American rapper, for transporting narcotics. At 4:50 pm exactly, at 33 avenue Montaigne, local police checked the three passengers of a vehicle that smelled strongly of cannabis.

Police said that Lil Baby initially refused to allow police to check the car. The situation was tense because the Americans didn’t understand what was happening. Uniformed officers then arrived and proceeded to search the car, finding 32 grams of cannabis, according to the official.
Videos shared on social networks showed the Brooklyn Nets star with Lil Baby on one of the French capital’s most elite avenues.
In another video posted on Twitter, Harden, who has played for the Brooklyn Nets since January, can be seen surrounded by several police officers, with one patting him down.
Baby was taken to a nearby police station and kept in custody. The prosecutor’s office said an investigation was opened for transporting drugs. He was released early Friday after paying a fine for narcotics use.
