Lil Durk takes fans on a journey through his mental state.

Released on March 28, the incarcerated Chicago rapper shared his new album entitled “Deep Thoughts.”

The album comes with 17 tracks including lead singles “Turn Up A Notch,” “Opportunist,” “Late Checkout” featuring Hunxho and “Can’t Hide It” featuring Jhené Aiko.

Production was handled by a variety of producers, including Southside, Chopsquad DJ, Metro Boomin, Lil Yachty, and Benny Blanco, among others.

“Deep Thoughts” allows Durkio to be more vulnerable and open than ever before. He shows remorse for his past mistakes on songs like “Wonderin’ Again” and reflects on his loses on “Deep Depression.” It serves as the follow-up to Durk’s previous drop, “Almost Healed.”

Durk’s team gave fans a look into his creative process with the release of a “Deep Thoughts” mini documentary, which showcased the rapper’s journey crafting the process as well as the communication with his team from behind bars.

“It’s gonna be more than just is a song good or great? You gotta be like, ‘Boy, the album is nominated for a Grammy.’ We gotta start thinking in that box and get out the little box of thinking,” Durk says to open the doc. “This shitdeeper than that. This shit really ‘Deep Thoughts.’”

Lil Durk was arrested in October 2024 after he was indicted for his alleged involvement in a murder-for-hire plot against rapper Quando Rondo. Prosecutors allege Durk ordered a team of men to follow Rondo and kill him in Los Angeles in 2022. The men opened fire at the Georgia artist but fatally struck his cousin Lul Pab instead.

Durk was originally set to face trial in January but his date got pushed back to October.
