Lil Durk‘s trial has been delayed once more, now scheduled to begin on August 25, 2026.

During a pretrial hearing held Monday (February 23) in Los Angeles for his alleged murder-for-hire case, where he is accused of paying five individuals to kill Quando Rondo in 2022, the trial date was yet again postponed.

The new date is not yet finalized, as it depends on the judge’s decision regarding a motion from three co-defendants to separate their cases from Durk’s. If approved, the rapper could potentially face trial earlier.

The August date was reportedly set to accommodate the defense team of one of the co-defendants, not Durk himself.

In the meantime, several co-defendants have requested continuances in recent months — a move Durk’s legal team has opposed, as they prefer the trial to proceed without further delays. However, the court has not granted Durk’s request for a separate trial, requiring all co-defendants to be tried together for now.

This marks another postponement since Durk’s arrest in October 2024. Initially set to begin on January 7, 2025, his trial has faced repeated delays — first pushed to October 14, 2025, then rescheduled for January 6, 2026, before an update in January set it for April 21. Now, it’s slated for August 25.

Throughout the case, Lil Durk has consistently asserted his innocence. Last month, he was released from solitary confinement after spending five months in isolation for reportedly possessing an Apple Watch.
