Lil Nas X has announced a new song entitled “J Christ.”
The track will arrive on Friday (January 12) and “is dedicated to the man who had the greatest comeback of all time,” as Lil Nas X wrote in capital letters on his social media, revealing the track’s title and cover art – which depicts the musician mirroring Jesus Christ’s crucifixion.

“i know it’s been 2 years but….y’all ready for a show?” Lil Nas X added.
The song, which will seemingly kick off Nas’ sophomore album, will be accompanied by a music video.
He also shared a link to the website www.beginingisnear.com, which takes fans to a landing page with links to pre-save the track on Spotify and Apple Music and has a background of what appears to be a stairway to heaven.
“J Christ” will be Lil Nas X’s first single since 2022, when he released “Late To Da Party” (ft. YoungBoy Never Broke Again) and “Star Walkin.”
What’s more? Lil Nas X has shut down criticism over the cover art for his new single. On the cover artwork, the artist can be seen lying naked – only covered by lime green fabric – on a cross that’s being lifted by five other people.
“The crazy thing is nowhere in the picture is a mockery of jesus,” Lil Nas X tweeted an hour after the reveal.
“Jesus’s image is used throughout history in people’s art all over the world. I’m not making fun of sh*t. yall just gotta stop trying to gatekeep a religion that was here before any of us were even born. stfu.”
