Lil Wayne has officially confirmed the release date of his upcoming album “Tha Carter VI.”

In a surprising move, Weezy announced the date for his highly anticipated project through a new Cetaphil advertisement. The New Orleans rapper’s highly anticipated album will be arriving on June 6.

“This campaign made perfect sense to me,” Wayne said about starring in the ad. “The world knew I was disappointed, but what they didn’t know was that it made me determined to deliver something way bigger.”

There are several easter egg nuggets hinting at a 6/6 date inscribed across the ad through jerseys and scoreboards. Weezy in the studio gets asked if he’s still going to the big game to which he replies, “Nah, this is time sensitive.” The camera then zooms in on a notice posted on a recording studio door that reads: “Do not disturb ‘til 06-06-25. CARTER VI.”

It’s been seven years since Wayne last released “Tha Carter V,” the fifth installment in the series that began in 2004. Over the years, the Young Money boss has teased the album, and it’s clear he’s assembling an impressive lineup of collaborators.
