Megan Thee Stallion was taken to the hospital after falling ill while performing in the Broadway production of “Moulin Rouge! The Musical”.
The Houston-based rapper and rising actress required medical attention in New York City on Tuesday night (March 31), after becoming “very ill” during the show.
According to TMZ, emergency responders were called to the Al Hirschfeld Theatre following reports of someone experiencing difficulty breathing. However, specific details about Megan’s condition remain unclear.
Loren LoRosa, co-host of “The Breakfast Club” and an audience member that night, shared her account of the incident. She mentioned that the performance came to an abrupt halt when Megan had to leave due to a health concern.
LoRosa posted on X: “Came to see Meg The stallion on broadway and that was short lived. The few opening scenes I saw her in she was great on stage! I was excited BUT… They just stopped moulin rouge mid show apologized to the audience and said ..’stay inside and seated’ I asked security if we’re safe .. they told us ‘for now, we’ll update you if anything changes.’”
She later followed up with another tweet: “Milan rouge on Broadway has removed Meg the stallion for the night (no explanation as to why) … Announcement just came on in the theatre .. they have removed Meg Thee Stallion from the show as Zidler for the rest of the night.”
Details about Megan’s condition or its impact on her future performances have yet to be released.
Megan Thee Stallion’s return to the stage for “Moulin Rouge! The Musical” remains uncertain. After making her debut on March 24, she was initially slated to perform in the role of Zidler through May 17.
