Mobb Deep returns with their long-awaited new album “Infinite.”
Marking the group’s first full-length release since the passing of founding member Prodigy, the project fuses posthumous vocals with Havoc’s signature production to create a timeless, soul-stirring body of work.
“Infinite” stands as both a tribute and a continuation of Mobb Deep’s cultural imprint. Seventeen years after their last studio album and nearly eight years since Prodigy’s passing, Havoc carries the torch with reverence and renewed fire, fusing classic New York grit with soulful introspection.
The album bridges generations, reuniting Mobb Deep’s extended family of featured artists, including Nas, Raekwon, Ghostface Killah, and Big Noyd, while bringing in a new generation of collaborators like Jorja Smith and H.E.R. Production is handled by Havoc and The Alchemist, grounding Infinite in the duo’s unmistakable sound.
“When I was picking Prodigy’s verses, I felt like a beggar; to me, there is no greater MC, and I am blessed to have been his partner,” states Havoc.
The album’s lead single, “Down For You” (ft. Nas, Jorja Smith), sets the emotional tone for Infinite. Over Havoc’s haunting production and crisp drums, Jorja Smith’s evocative vocals anchor the chorus — “It hurts me to keep you in my heart. If being in love is my downfall, then I’ll be down for you.” The song captures the pain that love sometimes causes while reflecting Mobb Deep’s ability to turn vulnerability into strength.
Havoc states, “Mobb Deep and Jorja Smith is something you would never expect, and I love doing the unexpected. She instantly loved the track, and she killed it. Her voice brought a whole other layer of emotion to the song.”
The single’s music video, directed by Hidji World, mirrors that emotional depth through powerful visual storytelling. The screen splits between Havoc, Nas, and Jorja Smith performing in tandem with scenes of a young nurse collecting tears from multiple patients — ultimately using those tears to water a lush garden. The imagery represents healing and rebirth, transforming pain into growth and love into renewal.
