Nas and DJ Premier’s long-awaited collaborative album is officially on its way, with fans finally getting a confirmed release date, title, and artwork for the project.

The announcement was made on November 25. The duo revealed the album, titled “Light-Years”, will be released on December 12 through Mass Appeal Records.

This record marks the final installment in the “Legend Has It…” series by Mass Appeal, which has brought listeners fresh albums from some of the finest names in New York hip-hop throughout 2025.

While rumors hinting at a joint album between Nas and DJ Premier circulated for years, it wasn’t until last year that they confirmed their plans with the release of the lead single, “Define My Name”.

Nas shared recently that Light-Years would feature not just new tracks but also a selection of older songs he and DJ Premier recorded during earlier discussions about creating a collaborative album.
