NBA YoungBoy and DJ Khaled have joined forces for a surprise release titled “Deshawn”, a 13-track mixtape named after YoungBoy’s middle name, “DeSean.”
This marks the first collaboration between the Louisiana rapper, known for his relentless output, and the Miami-based hitmaker renowned for his chart-topping projects.
“Deshawn” arrives not long after YoungBoy’s July album “Make America Slime Again”, which landed in the top 10 on the Billboard 200. That sprawling 30-track record featured collaborations with Playboi Carti and Mellow Rackz, stirring debate for its politically charged content.
In a departure from their feature-heavy tendencies, “Deshawn” includes only one guest appearance: fellow Louisiana artist Kevin Gates.
DJ Khaled hyped the mixtape on Instagram, calling it a mixtape that “sounds like an album.” Meanwhile, YoungBoy expressed his motivation in a recent video post, stating: “I just wanna win. That’s why I’m dropping again. I don’t wanna do nothing but win.”
With YoungBoy’s reputation for prolific output — seven projects in 2022 alone — fans are eager to see how the duo’s collaboration plays out. The union of these two powerhouse artists has already sparked strong anticipation in the music world.
