NBA YoungBoy has confirmed the imminent arrival of his album “Slime Cry”, putting fans’ concerns over delays and cancelation to rest — for now.
The Louisiana rapper recently shared that the highly-anticipated project is set for release this Friday (January 16.) This announcement came through a now-deleted Instagram Story, where he posted a live countdown showing three days and 15 hours, creating excitement among his loyal supporters.
The release deliberations have kept fans cautious, as they’ve been let down before.
Back in October 2025, YoungBoy teased that “Slime Cry” would drop on November 28, coinciding with Black Friday. However, fans were left disappointed when the day arrived without any sign of the album.
Compounding frustrations, the artist kept silent for nearly 24 hours without addressing the situation. Eventually, he shared cryptic updates on social media, diffusing some tension.
“Oh you want my album I forgot, Loading….,,” he said nonchalantly before writing later, “5ive I’m the sickest, You ready ??”
Yet, hope dwindled further in December when YoungBoy took to Instagram again with an alarming update. He hinted at shelving “Slime Cry” indefinitely, writing, “Slime cry ‘I don’t think loading.’”
Fans were understandably disheartened as the uncertainty surrounding the album grew.
With this new announcement, however, it appears that NBA YoungBoy is finally ready to deliver — and fans are eagerly counting down the days to Friday’s release.
