NBA YoungBoy has been arrested in Utah on multiple charges while serving a house arrest sentence.
According to jail records, the Baton Rouge rapper – born Kentrell Gaulden – was booked into Cache County Sheriff’s Office on Tuesday evening (April 16).
He was booked on several charges including possession of a controlled substance and possession of a dangerous weapon. No bail has been set.
YoungBoy is awaiting trial for federal gun charges, which was paused in March pending the U.S. Supreme Court’s ruling on Second Amendment rights this spring.
The 24-year-old Louisiana entertainer, who has memorable features on songs by Migos, Juice Wrld and Tyler, the Creator, has been confined to his Salt Like City mansion since late 2021 after being indicted in his native Louisiana on charges of “felon in possession of a firearm.”
A judge relaxed his house arrest conditions last December for mental health treatments, but the arrest indicates he’s now being accused of abusing those privileges.
An attorney representing NBA YoungBoy issued a statement saying in part, “Everyone is presumed innocent, and he has been falsely accused in the past.”
