NBA YoungBoy, now married to Jazlyn Mychelle, is facing renewed scrutiny over past incidents as security footage from a former relationship has come to light.

A YouTube video by AntiGlomar reveals clearer footage of an altercation with his ex, Jania Meshell, occurring in a hotel hallway back in 2018, where he is seen pushing and dragging her. This recent development prompted a response from YoungBoy’s attorney, Jimmy Manasseh.

In 2019, YoungBoy managed to avoid jail in this matter. Although initially charged with aggravated assault and kidnapping, he reached a plea agreement, admitting guilt to misdemeanor simple battery family violence, which included a $1,500 fine and a 12-month probation. Following the resurfacing of the video, Manasseh made a statement to TMZ addressing the situation.

“It was a misdemeanor matter, resolved nearly 10 years ago. I don’t think [it’s a big deal],” he reportedly expressed. “I believe she requested to drop charge. He was on probation in East Baton Rouge and he was not revoked because of it.”

Meshell allegedly stated that they were merely fooling around in her effort to have the serious charges dismissed. However, numerous fans are understandably reluctant to extend any leniency to the rapper. It remains to be seen if he will address this soon or leave it behind.

Many fans, upon seeing the footage, drew parallels to the Diddy incident. Hotel security cameras had also captured him assaulting his former partner Cassie, leading to significant criticism aimed at YB as well.
