Nicki Minaj may soon be forced to sell her $20 million California mansion following a court order related to an unpaid lawsuit judgment.
Los Angeles Superior Court Judge Cindy Pánuco is prepared to authorize the sale of the rapper’s home to settle a $500,000 debt owed to Thomas Weidenmuller, a security guard injured by Minaj’s husband, Kenneth Petty.
Despite the judgment, Minaj has not yet made the payment. Last month, Weidenmuller filed a motion requesting the forced sale of the property, and Judge Pánuco appears inclined to approve the request.
“My tentative is to grant this,” Judge Pánuco said, according to RS. “I just want to make sure we’re getting it right.”
She is now awaiting a Bank of America statement detailing how much of the $13 million mortgage has been paid since Minaj purchased the property in October 2022. The home’s current estimated value is $20 million.
The judge also addressed potential complications with the sale: “Let’s say there’s no bidder who offers the full $20 million, and it goes up for auction, and they don’t get fair market value, and it doesn’t cover everything”.
Adding, “If it doesn’t cover what the sale is required to cover — including the judgment, in this instance — then I would use that evidence to help me to determine that.”
The next hearing for the case is scheduled for January 22, 2026.
This lawsuit stems from an incident in 2019 when Weidenmuller claimed he was assaulted by Petty during a show in Germany after allowing a fan to climb on stage. He alleged that Petty acted under Nicki’s direction.
When Minaj failed to respond to the legal proceedings in 2022, she was ordered to pay $503,000 in damages. As of now, the debt remains unpaid.
