Nicki Minaj‘s “Pink Friday 2” album has debuted at #1 on the Billboard 200, giving her the most chart-topping albums for a female artist in Hip-Hop history. It’s her third album to hit #1 behind 2012’s “Roman Reloaded” and 2011’s “Pink Friday.”
“Pink Friday 2” reached the top of the Billboard 200 with 228,000 equivalent album units sold in the U.S.
The streaming equivalent album units comprise 129,000 (or 169.87 million on-demand official streams). Total sales are 92,000, and the track equivalent album units are 7,000. “Pink Friday 2” vinyl sales are credited at 25,000 copies, the largest week for a rap album by a woman since Luminate began electronically tracking sales in 1991.
Prior to the release of “Pink Friday 2,” Minaj was tied with Foxy Brown for the most #1 albums by a female artists with two, as Foxy’s first two albums, 1996’s “Ill Na Na” and 1999’s “Chyna Doll” both reached the Billboard 200 summit.
“Pink Friday 2” features a bevy of artists, including Drake, Lil Wayne, J. Cole, Future, and Lil Uzi Vert, among others. The album was preceded by three lead singles, including 2022’s “Super Freaky Girl,” “Red Ruby Da Sleeze,” which arrived in March, and “Last Time I Saw You,” which was released in September.
