Post Malone seems to be putting aside his cowboy hat, at least for now.
On July 16, he shared a hint of new music on Instagram, suggesting a return to his rap roots.
In the clip, where Post chugs a Bud Light and smokes a cigarette, he playfully captions it with, “That one mofo that don’t know when to leave.”
The unreleased track showcases his signature melodic rap style that captivated fans on albums like “Beerbongs & Bentleys” and “Hollywood’s Bleeding”. This might indicate the musical direction he plans for his next LP.
In the snippet, he raps “All my money clean, not a damn stain on me/ I would pop a bean, 2016 Stoney,” and reminisces about his 2016 debut album “Stoney”.
Tyla Yaweh chimed in with a comment, “Ohhhhh this a hit,” offering his approval. Fans also seemed enthusiastic about Post Malone’s potential return to hip-hop.
His last rap-focused album, “Twelve Carat Toothache”, released in 2022, reached #2 on the Billboard 200. In 2023, he leaned towards pop with “Austin” and then ventured into country with 2024’s “F-1 Trillion”, featuring hits like “I Had Some Help” with country star Morgan Wallen, which topped the Billboard Hot 100.
