5 years ago today, the music industry mourned over the passing of legendary rapper Biz Markie at the age of 57.
The Hip-Hop pioneer, best known for his 1989 hit “Just a Friend,” passed away in a hospital with his wife by his side. His death was a result of long-term complications from type 2 diabetes.
May he rest in peace and his legacy continue to be remembered.
