8 years ago today, the music industry mourned over the passing of Mac Miller at the age of 26.

Miller rose to fame after topping U.S. charts with his debut album, “Blue Slide Park”, in 2011, which became just the second independent Hip-Hop record to top the Billboard 200.

The 26-year-old Pittsburgh rapper, who was open about his substance abuse, died from a fatal mix of drugs and alcohol. He was found unresponsive at his home in the Studio City neighborhood of Los Angeles.

May he rest in peace and his legacy continue to be remembered.
