8 years ago today, the Hip-Hop world lost rising rapper XXXTentacion at the age of 20.

Despite being a controversial figure due to his highly publicized legal issues, the Florida-born artist built a devoted cult following among his young audience during his brief career, largely driven by his music’s focus on themes of depression and alienation.

On June 18, 2018, XXXTentacion was tragically killed in a shooting near a motorcycle dealership in Deerfield Beach, Florida. The assailants escaped the scene in an SUV after robbing him of a Louis Vuitton bag that held $50,000 in cash.
