The Chef is back and he’s not coming quietly.
Just hours after the Wu-Tang Clan wrapped their final tour stop in Philadelphia, the Eastcoast rapper dropped a project that proves his crown is still firmly in place.
Raekwon returns with his first solo album since 2017’s “The Wild” as the Wu-Tang Clan wordsmith served up his “The Emperor’s New Clothes” project on Friday (July 18).
Listen to “The Emperor’s New Clothes” below.
The 55-year-old recruited his Wu-Tang brothers Ghostface Killah, Inspectah Deck, and Method Man, along with heavyweights Nas, Westside Gunn, Conway the Machine, and Benny the Butcher.
On the production side, Rae worked with from Swizz Beatz, J.U.S.T.I.C.E. League and Nottz throughout the 17-track album while RZA is nowhere to be found.
Released on his own Ice H2O Records and Mass Appeal, the project quickly drew praise online.
Alongside the album, Raekwon has also dropped a horror movie-inspired video for gritty anthem “Bear Hill.”
