Rich Homie Quan has been gone for just under two weeks and fans already have new music from the late Atlanta artist.
His first posthumous track “Song Cry” has been released ahead of the late rapper’s funeral.
“I had to put on my shades to hide these tears/ And I don’t pop on the gram ’cause that’s how guys get killed/ Let me roll my weed so I can fake my feelings/ This lifestyle I live, real, I can’t fake this here,” Rich Homie Quan crooned in the chorus.
“This a song cry/ I know you hear that sh*t/ Listen to the song cry/ You gotta feel that sh*t,” Quan added in the post-chorus.
In his verse, Quan raps about seeing his homie die, being in a “sticky situation” in Canada, and more outpouring of his emotions.
Quan, whose real name is Dequantes Devontay Lamar, passed away on September 5. He was found unresponsive in his home and his cause of death is currently unknown, though an autopsy was recently conducted. His funeral will take place on Tuesday (Sept. 17) in College Park, Ga.
