Opening-week sales have long been a key gauge in Hip-Hop, sparking debates among fans who either celebrate a powerful debut or question if an artist met expectations.

The initial sales often dominate discussions around a new release, well before its long-term impact is considered. Currently, this discussion centers on Rick Ross, whose latest album, “Set In Stone”, has debuted at #39 on the Billboard 200, securing 19,000 equivalent album units in its first week.

These figures are likely to be compared to earlier stages of Ross’ career when he consistently vied for top-charting positions. Since making his entrance with “Port of Miami” in 2006, the Miami rapper has curated one of Hip-Hop’s most reliable discographies, producing a succession of hit albums while establishing Maybach Music Group as a prominent entity in the genre.

For Ross, “Set In Stone” marks another entry on the Billboard 200, adding to a career that spans nearly two decades. While fans may debate whether 19,000 units is an impressive start, the album’s real test will be its performance in the coming weeks rather than just its initial showing.
