All four defendants have been found guilty in the murder trial of Jacksonville, Florida, rapper Foolio.

After a month-long trial, a jury in Tampa, Florida, delivered its verdict on May 8. Isaiah Chance, Sean Gathright, Rashad Murphy, and Davion Murphy were convicted of first-degree murder and conspiracy to commit murder. The decision came after eight hours of deliberation.

The Tampa Bay Tribune reports that Gathright and the Murphy brothers were also found guilty of attempted second-degree murder for injuring multiple people during the same shooting incident.

Additionally, the jury determined that Chance and the Murphy brothers were involved in gang-related activities, with the killing tied to their gang affiliation.

Evidence presented in court established that Chance, Gathright, both Murphy brothers, and Chance’s girlfriend, Alicia Andrews, orchestrated a plan to locate and kill Foolio while he celebrated his birthday in Tampa on June 23, 2024.

Surveillance footage showed Gathright and the Murphy brothers using automatic weapons to open fire on a parked car outside a Holiday Inn, where Foolio was seated. Authorities revealed that Chance and Andrews had provided details about Foolio’s location to facilitate the attack.

The trial is now moving into the penalty phase. Prosecutors will seek the death penalty for all four convicted men.

Separately, Alicia Andrews, who was the fifth individual charged in connection with the case, was convicted of manslaughter during her trial last November. She is currently awaiting her sentencing.
