Prepare to pour a glass of gin and juice, as a Snoop Dogg biopic is officially in the works.

Speaking at CinemaCon in Las Vegas on April 15, Snoop announced that production for the film will kick off this summer, with plans for a nationwide theatrical release in 2027.

“I wish I could give you more details. We’ll be back at CinemaCon next year with a trailer,” Snoop told the audience, according to Deadline.

Outer Banks actor Jonathan Daviss is set to portray a young Snoop Dogg (born Calvin Broadus Jr.) navigating his path in the rap scene. The biopic will be directed by Craig Brewer, known for “Hustle & Flow”, with Brian Grazer, producer of Eminem’s “8 Mile”, joining the project as a producer alongside Snoop himself.

According to USA Today, Snoop Dogg shared that his biopic, titled “Snoop”, will carry an R rating.

“After my brothers shared their story in ‘Straight Outta Compton’, it’s finally my time,” the West Coast icon remarked, referencing the 2015 N.W.A. biopic, where LaKeith Stanfield portrayed him.

“[Brewer] just showed us how hard it is out here for a pimp from ‘Hustle & Flow’. And then last year, he got us all singing ‘Sweet Caroline,’” Snoop added of Song Sung Blue, which Brewer directed in 2025.

In collaboration with NBCUniversal, Snoop’s Death Row Pictures is making waves, and the rap legend humorously remarked that his trailer is positioned right next to iconic filmmaker Steven Spielberg’s.

According to USA Today, he joked: “I’ve got a trailer on the lot right next to Spielberg. The fire department’s been called on me twice already, but there wasn’t any fire — just smoke, baby!”
