Suge Knight has expressed skepticism over the authenticity of the Death Row Records chain Drake has been flaunting, asserting that it was never owned or worn by 2Pac.

During a call with “The Art Of Dialogue” podcast this week, Knight, currently serving a 28-year prison sentence in California, addressed the rapper’s alleged display of the iconic label’s chain.

As the founder of Death Row Records, Suge claims he originated the idea of crafting the chains and insists the first one was handed to Snoop Dogg, who later opted for a custom dog paw design instead.

“When I came up with the idea to make the Death Row chain, one, it had never been done before,” he said. “Two, it was like wearing a, you know, it was like having your flag, your rag. You can’t tuck it, It means something.”

Knight also recalled his promise to 2Pac after bailing him out of jail in 1995: the rapper was supposed to receive his own Death Row chain. However, 2Pac preferred Suge’s personal chain, which held greater sentimental value to him.

“He’s like, ‘Sh–, you my big bro. Let me wear yours, that’s more important. I don’t want a first one, I want to wear the one you got,’” Knight shared.

Shifting his focus to Drake, Knight accused him of owning a counterfeit chain and urged him to confront the jeweler responsible for fabricating what Drake purportedly believed was 2Pac’s Death Row chain.

“That’s not 2Pac’s chain. It’s not a Death Row chain,” he claimed. “Whoever sold you that chain, Drake, you need to go beat his motherf—ing a–.”
