The trial for the individual accused of killing Takeoff in 2022 is scheduled to begin this November.
On February 10, Patrick Clark, the suspect identified by police as the person who fatally shot the Migos rapper, appeared in Harris County Court for a pre-trial hearing. During this session, a trial date was officially set for November 5.
This trial will take place nearly four years after Takeoff tragically lost his life on November 1, 2022, during a shooting at a private afterparty at 810 Billiards & Bowling in Houston.
Witnesses reported that gunfire erupted amid an argument while several individuals were playing dice nearby. Takeoff, who was neither involved in the game nor the dispute, was described by police as an innocent bystander. Unfortunately, he was fatally struck in the head and pronounced dead at the scene.
Another individual, a woman, also suffered a gunshot wound to the head in the same incident but survived. Investigators identified Patrick Clark, a local DJ, as the alleged shooter based on surveillance footage. Clark was arrested about a month after the incident and has since pleaded not guilty. He has been out on a $1 million bail for the past three years.
In June 2023, Takeoff’s mother filed a wrongful death lawsuit against 810 Billiards & Bowling. The following year, in 2024, the establishment’s owners sought to have the case dismissed, arguing that Takeoff’s death resulted from his own actions.
