Tay-K has seemingly fueled speculation about his potential early release from prison.
A video posted on his Instagram account on June 9 has added to the hype. The clip features him being greeted by a group of people as he climbs into a car, but when his face is revealed, it’s an animated version of the rapper, not the real Tay-K.
This video follows an earlier post from Tay-K’s sister, Kayla Beverly, who shared a video nearly two weeks ago that reignited rumors. In the clip, she can be seen ending a call with someone listed as “Taymor’s Attorney” in her contacts.
After hanging up, she excitedly turns to another woman, believed to be Tay-K’s mother, and says, “Your son coming home.”
Adding fuel to the fire, Tay-K himself tweeted a cryptic “It’s true” shortly after the video surfaced.
Tay-K is currently serving an 80-year sentence handed down in 2025 for the murder of Mark Anthony Saldivar. Saldivar was fatally shot at a Chick-fil-A parking lot in San Antonio back in 2017 while the rapper was evading authorities.
This sentence is being served concurrently with a prior 55-year sentence for murder and aggravated robbery in connection to the 2016 killing of 21-year-old Ethan Walker.
The legal matters don’t end there. Tay-K still faces an unresolved case involving the assault and robbery of a man named Skip Pepe in Arlington, Texas. This incident, which took place in 2017 during his time on the run for Walker’s murder, remains pending.
As it stands, Tay-K’s current projected release date is August 8, 2099. However, he will become eligible for parole in 2049.
