While many fans of The Game might agree that his prime days during “The Documentary” era are now behind him, the rapper himself stands firm in the belief that he still wears the crown as the king of West Coast hip-hop.

During his appearance on the latest episode of Shannon Sharpe’s “Club Shay Shay” podcast, the Compton artist confidently proclaimed that he’s the leading rap figure representing the West Coast today.

“Can’t nobody out-rap me, man,” he declared. “And anybody that knows will know. No one can do what I do. No one has my skillset. Not only do I have the ability to rap circles around people, I’m also with all the bullshit too if it came down to that. I’m the best rapper in this town.”

Sharpe, a former NFL star, challenged The Game’s stance by bringing up West Coast rap legends such as Ice Cube and Snoop Dogg. However, The Game stood his ground and even expanded on his point.

“I love Cube but Cube can’t out-rap me,” he claimed. “And by the way, the reason that Cube can’t out-rap me is because I used Cube’s legacy to help me sharpen [my skills]. I used Snoop’s legacy to help me sharpen myself. I used Dr. Dre and N.W.A … those guys came before me.”

“It’s like Kobe [watching] Mike growing up. In Kobe’s prime, Mike couldn’t hold Kobe. But that’s because he came before him and he was done with it. Now, if I was in 1992 with Cube, Cube might be able to go crazy. But right now? Nah, there’s not a rapper on the West that’s better than me.”

When asked if he considers himself the top rapper from Compton — a city known for producing icons like Kendrick Lamar, Eazy-E, and DJ Quik — The Game responded decisively, “I’m definitely the best rapper from Compton. Definitely.”
