The appeal of Tory Lanez regarding his conviction for shooting Megan Thee Stallion has been denied, confirming the original ruling.

The Canadian rapper remains incarcerated, serving a 10-year sentence connected to the 2020 shooting. On November 12, the appellate court rejected his appeal, stating that there were “no errors” in either his conviction or the sentencing process.

In a detailed 46-page assessment, the judges deemed the evidence presented during the trial sufficient to support the jury’s determination that Lanez caused severe bodily harm to Megan Thee Stallion.

Lanez, whose real name is Daystar Peterson, had raised several points in his appeal. He asserted that certain pieces of evidence were admitted inappropriately, alleged misconduct by the prosecutors during the 2022 trial, and claimed the jury received improper instructions. Additionally, he argued he should have received a lower sentence rather than a mid-level term.

His convictions included charges of assault with a semiautomatic firearm, possession of an unregistered loaded firearm in a vehicle, and grossly negligent discharge of a firearm.

The incident happened in July 2020 at Kylie Jenner’s Hollywood Hills residence during a party. It escalated into an altercation in the street that left Megan Thee Stallion with injuries to both feet. Megan claimed Lanez told her to “dance” before firing the shots and later offered her $1 million to stay silent about it.

Earlier this year, Megan secured a five-year restraining order against Lanez due to allegations that he harassed her online through intermediaries while incarcerated.
