Despite receiving 10 Grammy nominations over the course of his career, Travis Scott has yet to claim one of the prestigious awards. However, the Houston-born rapper remains optimistic about his future chances.
Scott responded to a post on November 7 by a user on X, which highlighted him as one of the notable rappers still without a Grammy win. His reply, posted on November 8, was filled with determination: “This will change for me one day. Jus wait.”
Unlike some of his peers who have opted to step away from the Grammys after repeated losses, Travis has been vocal about his aspiration to eventually take home the coveted trophy. He has maintained his commitment to excel until his efforts are recognized by the Recording Academy.
Travis first garnered Grammy nominations as a lead artist in 2018 following the massive success of his album “Astroworld” and the chart-topping single “Sicko Mode.”
Reflecting his excitement at the time, Scott shared a post on X accompanied by a photo of himself carrying a special Grammy duffel bag.
He wrote, “Thank u record academy it’s took a whole 24hrs for it to really hit me. Plus this has Also been my duffle all year.”
Many saw 2019 as the year Travis would potentially claim a Grammy, considering the commercial triumph and critical acclaim of “Astroworld”. However, when the moment arrived, Cardi B’s “Invasion Of Privacy” took home the award instead.
For now, Travis Scott remains steadfast in his vision, with fans and industry watchers alike eager to see if his persistence will eventually secure him a Grammy win.
