Ty Dolla $ign has blasted Apple Music for what he claims is lackluster promotion of his collabo album “Vultures 1” with Kanye West.
On Sunday (March 3), a video surfaced of a since-deleted clip Kanye West posted on his Instagram Story of Ty Dolla $ign showing on his mobile phone how their collaborative album or its songs are not being promoted on Apple Music’s mainpage.
“We never had anything in the new music,” he said. “And we never had best new songs.”
However, the Los Angeles rapper did acknowledge that “Vultures 1” made it to the Apple Music charts.
Although Ty didn’t mention why he believes the controversial project is being omitted from Apple Music’s front page, his video suggests that the music game might be rigged for certain artists.
Part of the reason Apple Music may not be promoting “Vultures 1” is because it had been removed from various platforms. The entire album was also temporarily removed from Apple Music on February 15 after a complaint was raised by its distributor.
“Vultures 1” was initially distributed by FUGA but the company then said in a statement to Billboard that “a long-standing FUGA client delivered the album Vultures 1 through the platform’s automated processes, violating our service agreement.”
The awaited album is Ye’s 11th #1 release and Ty’s first.
