Ty Dolla Sign updated fans on his upcoming collaborative album with Kanye West.
Despite several delays, the Los Angeles rapper is promising fans that his and West‘s joint project is “coming real soon.”
In a clip shared on Twitter, the singer and rapper stated: “I just landed on a flight from Saudi Arabia. I’ve been out there recording a part of my album with my brother, Ye. And that’s coming real soon.”
The pair’s last collaboration together was “Junya Pt 2” alongside Playboi Carti from Ye’s 2021 album, “Donda.”
A new album would mark Ye’s first drop since his spate of controversial comments last year that were criticised as antisemitic. Back in October 2022, it emerged that West is no longer signed to record label Def Jam.
The forthcoming album was initially set to release in mid-October but was pushed back as the duo shopped for distributors. They also had cancelled a multi-stadium listening event scheduled for November 3, with sources noting that “several other issues” like planning with local officials, insurance policies and the event’s publicity added to decisions to cancel.
It has been reported that the major labels are unwilling to work with Ye given his comments and affiliation with white supremacist figures such as Nick Fuentes.
