Tyler, the Creator is gearing up for the release of his anticipated album “Chromakopia” with the simultaneous release of his new music video for “Noid.”
Dropping on October 28 – which also marks Frank Ocean‘s birthday – Tyler’s upcoming album’s revealed tracks thus far consist of “St. Chroma,” and the newly released “Noid.”
Directed by Tyler himself, “Noid” is a meditation on the rapper’s paranoia in being a public figure and his lack of privacy. Actress Ayo Edebiri appears in the video as a crazed fan who runs up on Tyler.
“I loop around the block, eyes glued to the rearview/ Rather double back than regret hearin’, ‘Pew, pew’/ Never trust a b*tch, if you good, they can trap you/ So just strap it up ‘fore they f*ck around and strap you, b*tch.”
Tyler samples Zambian musician, Paul Ngozi throughout the cut, hopping in to deliver just one verse in the middle of the roughly three-minute offering.
“Noid” is the latest tease ahead of “Chromakopia,” which he announced last week would arrive on October 28.
