Wu-Tang Clan and Lauryn Hill have earned nominations for the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame.

The iconic Staten Island rap collective and the celebrated Fugees artist are part of the Class of 2026 nominees, joining an impressive lineup that includes Mariah Carey, Sade, New Edition, Luther Vandross, and Phil Collins.

Additional nominees span a wide range of genres, such as Oasis, Jeff Buckley, Iron Maiden, Pink, Joy Division/New Order, Billy Idol, Shakira, The Black Crowes, INXS, and Melissa Etheridge.

This marks the first nomination for both Wu-Tang Clan and Lauryn Hill, despite their eligibility window opening over 25 years ago following their groundbreaking debuts — “Enter The Wu-Tang (36 Chambers)” in 1993 and “The Miseducation Of Lauryn Hill” in 1998, respectively.

If inducted, Wu-Tang Clan would become the ninth hip-hop group to be honored by the Hall of Fame. Meanwhile, Lauryn Hill could join Missy Elliott and Salt-N-Pepa as only the third female rap act to be recognized.

To date, 15 hip-hop artists have been inducted into the prestigious Hall, including Jay-Z, Eminem, 2Pac, The Notorious B.I.G., OutKast, A Tribe Called Quest, Run DMC, LL Cool J, and Public Enemy.

An international panel comprising over 1,200 artists, historians, and music industry experts will determine the final list of inductees. The Class of 2026 announcement will take place in April, with a formal induction ceremony set for fall.
