Ye joined Piers Morgan for an interview on Tuesday (May 6), but the combative chat was short-lived.
West appeared on the broadcast of Morganâs news program “Uncensored” alongside influencer Sneako.
Morgan asked the rapper how he was doing, prompting West to respond by encouraging the journalist to âjudgeâ his wellbeing based on âthe view.â
âThe view is Majorca, Iâve been there. Itâs a beautiful place, and for all intents and purposes, you seem very relaxed and happy. That is in direct contrast to your public image at the moment, over the last couple of years, led by your ferocious âŠâ Morgan said as West began to interrupt him. âWell, hang on. Let me finish the questionâŠâ
Ye fired back immediately.
âBut I already disagree. Itâs not in contrast â thereâs so many people and artists that are championing the idea of someone being able to just express who they really are, and have been able to go through the war of being attacked by the banks, being attacked, you know, by the banks â thatâs the best way to put it,â he retorted. âBeing attacked by the banks, and to still be here with this view is, you know, thatâs the win. So I think thatâs â Iâm in contrast to your contrast.â
Right before things went off the rails, Ye was offended that Morgan got his follower count wrong on X. Morgan listed 32 million when the exact number is upward of 33.3 million at press time.
âNow, look, right now you’re not going to take inches off my dick, bro. Like, how many followers do I have?â the Chicago native said. âIâm a gift, bro. Why do all you people in media act like you havenât played my songs at your weddings, or graduations or at funerals or when your child was born?â
He continued, âYou take someone like thatâs living, like a [John] Lennon or a Michael Jackson. That nuance right there is idiotic. It just shows the hate that you put out for people that put out love. Thereâs so much love in the art that I put out.â
When Morgan tried to steer West back on track, all hell broke loose.
A pissed off West insisted Morgan wasnât âtaken accountabilityâ and ended the interview by saying, âThis is what you get for now. We can circle back when you can count.â
The rapper removed his earpiece and stormed out, leaving his colleague Sneako to awkwardly pick up the pieces.
Later on, Morgan called Ye “a snivelling, little coward, and he’s an antisemite and a Hitler worshipper. That’s what I would have asked him if he’d had the balls to sit there and take the questions.”
