The documentary “In Whose Name?” has unveiled an explosive trailer, spotlighting Kanye West in a six-year journey that features appearances by Kim Kardashian, Drake, and Elon Musk.

Directed by Nico Ballesteros and filmed entirely on an iPhone, the film traces Ye’s life from 2018 to 2024. The trailer vividly encapsulates pivotal moments, from his strained relationship with ex-wife Kim Kardashian, whose divorce filing in 2021 ended their marriage, to his tumultuous yet headline-grabbing 2020 presidential bid and his spiritually-driven Sunday Service performances.

A standout moment in the trailer features Ye reflecting on his artistic identity: “The best thing about being an artist who’s bipolar is anything you do and say is an art piece.”

The documentary digs deep into Ye’s psyche, offering viewers an unfiltered glimpse into the method behind his perceived chaos while showcasing what cements him as one of the most provocative artists of this generation.

Packed with star-studded cameos, it includes footage of Ye in studio sessions with Drake, Pharrell, and Swizz Beatz, alongside electrifying scenes like his walkout with Playboi Carti and Marilyn Manson during the “Donda 2” listening party in Miami. The film also explores an intimate side of Ye through his connection with his children.

In one unapologetic clip, Ye addresses his fallout with major brands Gap and Adidas after his widely criticized antisemitic comments in 2022: “Should I have blown up the Gap sh–? Should I have blown up the Adidas sh–? But the answer is yes.”

“In Whose Name?” is set to debut in approximately 1,000 theaters across the United States starting September 19 for a limited run. Promoted as “a documentary six years in the making,” the film condenses over 3,000 hours of footage into a compelling narrative about one of the 21st century’s most polarizing figures.
