Young Thug has spoken out to clarify a viral video that shows him dancing with a woman, responding to social media chatter claiming his fiancée, Mariah The Scientist, “deserves better.”

The Atlanta rapper addressed the situation on X, stressing that the interaction was completely innocent.

In a since-deleted post, he explained: “Just was walking pass the camera and danced with a fan on some cool shit don’t make it nun crazy. And yes I already saw the camera lol I have a wife.”

He later added another post saying: “N***a can’t even show luv to fans lol I was just being nice and having fun with humans. I don’t know that girl or want too,no shade to her tho she’s beautiful.”

Although Young Thug referred to himself as having a “wife,” he and Mariah The Scientist are not officially married. The two recently got engaged after he proposed during his “Hometown Hero” benefit concert in Atlanta in December 2025.

The engagement marked a significant milestone in their relationship, which began in 2021 and persisted even through Young Thug’s incarceration.

The proposal followed a brief breakup before the couple reconciled and decided to take their relationship forward.
