The 2022 MTV Video Music Awards were presented on Sunday night (August 28) at the Prudential Center in Newark, New Jersey, honoring the best artists and biggest names in music at this year’s star-studded show.

Jack Harlow, Kendrick Lamar and Lil Nas X lead the pack with seven nominations a piece, while 2021 MTV VMAs host, Doja Cat, and Harry Styles weren’t far behind, each scoring six nominations.

For the third straight year, the VMAs was also simulcast on the CW, BET, BET Her, CMT, Comedy Central, Logo, MTV2, Nickelodeon, Paramount Network, Pop, TVLand and VH1. Hosting the 2022 VMAs was a threesome of LL Cool J and Jack Harlow along with Nicki Minaj, who was also been chosen as this year’s winner of the Video Vanguard Award.

Jack Harlow kicked off the show with a stunning performance of “First Class” with Lil Nas X, Chloe Bailey, Saucy Santana, and Avril Lavigne sitting in the makeshift plane. Once Harlow hit the official stage, he was joined by Black Eyed Peas singer Fergie, who finished up the chart-topping single, which samples her 2006 single “Glamorous.”
