Tory Lanez has been found guilty in the felony assault trial related to the 2020 shooting of Megan Thee Stallion.

Following eight days of trial, nearly two days of closing arguments and a day of deliberations, a jury in Los Angeles on Friday (December 23) reached a verdict and found the Canada rapper guilty of shooting Megan Thee Stallion in the foot during an altercation in 2020.

Tory Lanez  pleaded not guilty to assault with a semiautomatic firearm, possession of an unregistered and loaded firearm and discharge of a firearm with gross negligence, but the jury — which consisted of seven women and five men — discussed for one day before convicting him on all three counts.

The trial was filled with twists and turns throughout the 10 days.

In her trial testimony, Megan Thee Stallion claimed that the situation flared up into a heated argument between her Lanez and her former friend and assistant Kelsey Harris as she wanted confirmation about the two being in an intimate relationship. And as she exited the vehicle, she expressed that she started to walk away and Lanez yelled, “Dance, b***h,” as he shot at her feet.

Aside from the verdict, Megan’s missing bodyguard was also a hot topic. Justin Edison was called to testify in the trial last Friday, but he went missing. Yesterday, he surrendered to the authorities, and it is speculated that the pressure from the trial caused him to retreat.

Tory Lanez, who opted not to testify, faces up to 22 years in prison and deportation to his native Canada.
