Busta Rhymes is giving Kodak Black thorough life advice in the music video for “Homage.”

Directed by renowned filmmaker Benny Boom, the visual showcases Busta and Kodak in a symbolic portrayal of mutual respect and admiration for each other’s craft.

Boom paints a beautiful picture of success, setting the video in front of a tropical and lush backdrop. And, of course, there are plenty of bikini-clad women and cigars to symbolize a certain idyllic sense of success.

In his verse, Kodak recounts avoiding snakes and a series of missteps. Meanwhile, the “Dungeon Dragon” gives Yak some thorough life advice that echoes the Florida rapper’s real-life hardships, such as being in and out of prison.

“When I see the young G, Kodak, I love the way you be contributin’ the sh*t that you be doin’/ I done seen you go to jail, come home, get shot, calm down, and now I like the way you’re movin’/ Jewelry be priceless, I like to make the records, but I love to sit a ni**a down and school him/ Take the information and apply it, then become a success every single time you use ’em, yeah.”

“Homage” was released as a part of Busta Rhymes’ latest album entitled “Blockbusta” which was released in November 2023.

The project, executive produced by Pharrell, Swizz Beatz, and Timbaland, included an array of artists including Coi Leray, BIA, DaBaby, T-Pain, Morray, Chris Brown, Shenseea, Blackway, Burna Boy, JNR CHOI, Giggs, Kodak, Blxst, Yung Bleu, and more.
