Memphis Bleek has hinted that new music from Jay-Z may soon be on the horizon.
During a recent appearance on “Drink Champs” with hosts N.O.R.E. and DJ EFN, Bleek shared some insight into the possibility of Hov working on fresh material.
Reflecting on a recent interaction, he mentioned: “I just was with him in Vegas … He just came out on the show, like, yo, my n***a, they went stupid.”
Though specifics were not directly stated, it seems Bleek was referencing Jay-Z’s performance during the finale of Beyoncé’s “Cowboy Carter Tour,” which featured a surprise appearance by Destiny’s Child.
Bleek went on to add that he had approached Jay about securing a feature: “I said, ‘Listen, I know you working. Save me a verse.’ He’s like, ‘Alright, I got you.’ So if it happens, it happens.”
If a new solo album from Jay-Z does materialize, it would mark his first since 2017’s “4:44”. This would also be the longest hiatus between studio albums in his career.
Since then, Jay-Z collaborated with Beyoncé for their joint effort “Everything Is Love” in 2018, which was accompanied by their “On The Run II Tour.” His last released collaboration was Pusha T’s 2022 track “Neck & Wrist,” produced by Pharrell Williams.
