50 Cent expressed his excitement on July 8 as his documentary about Diddy, titled “Sean Combs: The Reckoning,” secured three Emmy nominations. The project he produced for Netflix highlights his achievement and underscores his position as a former underdog now at the forefront.

“Everybody had something to say when I announced it… now the Emmys got something to say too,” 50 boasted in a post on Instagram shortly after the nods were revealed. “3 Emmy nominations for Sean Combs: The Reckoning. You can’t argue with the work.”

The docuseries garnered nominations for outstanding documentary or nonfiction series, outstanding directing for a documentary/nonfiction program, and outstanding picture editing for a nonfiction program.

The G-Unit leader received plenty of support in his comments from notable figures like Busta Rhymes. Busta wrote, “Congrats & Happy Belated Born Day King.”

When 50 Cent first announced plans for a Diddy docuseries in 2024, many assumed he was engaging in his usual trolling antics. However, this assumption was incorrect. Released in December 2025, The Reckoning quickly sparked discussions about Diddy.

The docuseries was divided into four parts, exploring the rise and fall of the disgraced Bad Boy mogul along with an in-depth examination of Combs’ alleged sexual abuse related to his federal sex trafficking case.

“I’ve been committed to real storytelling for years through G-Unit Film and Television,” 50 said in a statement when the docuseries was released. “I’m grateful to everyone who came forward and trusted us with their stories, and proud to have Alexandria Stapleton as the director on the project to bring this important story to the screen.”

In October 2025, Diddy received a 50-month prison sentence for breaching federal prostitution regulations, while avoiding more severe allegations related to sex trafficking and racketeering.
