Rising rapper, Baby Jungle, who hails from the heart of Georgia, is definitely the one to watch throughout the remainder of 2023 and beyond.
The 21 year old Epic Records signee’s current heater, “No Dissin,” is still in heavy rotation, while it’s equally infectious Hendrix Smoke-assisted successor “Green Light,” produced by ATL Jacob (Future, Young Thug, Lil Baby), is set to follow suit.
Now let’s hop right into this lead single/video, “No Dissin, ” tell me about this particular track; how did it come to fruition?
The beat was so crazy when I heard it! I was able to instantly come up with the hook, and first lines. When you’re growing and getting more attention, people try to take shots at you. This song pretty much lets everyone know that I’m not the one to play with!
As a lyricist, when you sit down to pen your rhymes where do you draw inspiration from?
I come with everything on the fly while I’m in the booth. I’ve become really comfortable in the studio. My inspiration comes from everything around me. All my wins, all my losses and everything I’ve seen growing up.
Reflecting, tell me your whole inception into music. When did you first become interested in it? And, how did it all begin for Baby Jungle?
I’ve always loved music. I was really popular in my city from being ahead of the curve with fashion, and also throwing parties. My pops took me to the studio one time, and I’ve been addicted to it since then!
Now you’re a native of where exactly? And growing up there, who all did you consider to be your strongest musical influences?
I’m from Macon, GA. It’s about 45 minutes to an hour south of Atlanta. My musical influences are Juice WRLD, Rod Wave, DaBaby, Lil Baby, Lil Uzi, Lil Wayne and Polo G…Young Thug, NBA YoungBoy.
In having said that, how do you classify your overall sound and style?
I think I’m a perfect mixture of everything. I have songs with an edgy street sound, but I can also make records that have a more melodic and mainstream feel.
Where did you get the name from?
Growing up seeing so much and being surrounded around wild situations. It’s like surviving a jungle, for real. I’ve been popping since I was young, so that’s where the baby came from.
Switching gears here, what exactly do you want people to get from your music?
It depends on the song. Certain songs make sure I want to go run up a million dollar bag. Other songs make you reflect on your struggle or someone you lost close to you. I also have songs that make you want to vibe with the person you close with.
If you could collaborate with any one artist, living or dead, who would it be and why?
Juice WRLD! I feel like his music touches your soul.
Do you have any other additional future aspirations, maybe even completely away from music?
I want to get into directing movies and designing clothes.
On a more serious note, are you happy with the current state of Hip-Hop?
Yes! I feel like a lot of young artists are getting a shot because social media allows fans to tap in with your music easier.
What’s an average day like for you?
Workout, social media work, studio, check on family and go over upcoming plans with my team.
How do you interact with and respond to fans?
I try to make them feel like family instead of fans. If someone supports me that really means a lot, so I have to show love back!
Looking ahead, say five or maybe even ten years from now, where do you see yourself?
I see myself being a multi-platinum artist! By that time, I would have been able to see the world doing shows, and plan out investments for my family as well.
As for the immediate, what’s next for Baby Jungle?
I have so many hard songs and projects on the way, it’s crazy! Before I got signed, I did over 300 songs and probably have another 100 since I got signed. You can plan to see me out promoting and connecting with people to let them know Baby Jungle is here to stay!
Any parting words for our readers?
Tell a friend about Baby Jungle! I need everyone’s support to help me be the number one Hip Hop artist in the world!
