The family of Celeste Rivas Hernandez, the teenager allegedly killed by D4vd, has issued an emotional statement following the release of findings from the Los Angeles County Medical Examiner.

The report, which had been withheld due to a court order but was shared in a redacted version on April 22, categorized her death as a homicide. The document highlighted ā€œmultiple penetrating injuriesā€ as the definitive cause.

Speaking about the report’s release, Chief Medical Examiner Dr. Odey Ukpo expressed his gratitude for the opportunity to make these crucial findings accessible to the public.

ā€œIt is unfathomable [the family has] had to wait this long to learn what happened to their daughter,ā€ Dr. Ukpo said. ā€œThe transparency of the information contained in our findings and reports is essential for empowering the community to make informed changes to affectively reduce fear and allowing the community to take informed action.ā€

The report, as anticipated, contains graphic details. In light of this, the Rivas Hernandez family has issued a new statement through their legal representative, Patrick Steinfeld.

“The Rivas Hernandez family is absolutely devastated by the findings contained in the Medical Examiner’s report involving the horrible and gruesome death of their beloved daughter,ā€ the statement reads, per Los Angeles magazine reporter Lauren Conlin. ā€œThese findings have caused profound emotional pain for the family.ā€

The statement continues, “They respectfully ask for privacy, understanding, and patience as they process this information. Jesus and Mercedes will not attend David Anthony Burke’s hearing tomorrow. The Rivas Hernandez family sincerely appreciates the community’s support and concern.ā€

David Burke, a 21-year-old also known as D4vd, faces charges of murder, continuous sexual abuse of a child under 14, and the unlawful mutilation of human remains.

If found guilty on all counts, Burke could face either the death penalty or life imprisonment without the possibility of parole.
